– The wooden church of St. Archangels Michael and Gabriel dates from 1643, having been relocated in 1645, probably by the master Onuțu Simion. Fragments of painting can still be observed, leading to the conclusion that it dates from the 18th century and could be attributed to Ioan Pop from Românași.

According to the page http://welcometoromania.ro/DN1g/DN1g_Baica_Biserica_lemn_r.htm, in the village of Baica is located one of the most beautiful churches in Sălaj. According to the inscription on the stone iconostasis in the altar, the church was built in 1645, in honour of the Holy Archangels.
In the altar, old objects have been preserved, the wooden washbasin and the priest’s chair, a chair with only three legs. It is a rectangular church, with a polygonal apse and has a bell tower with a porch over the narthex.
Inside, one can admire the carved decorations and the wood paintings made by Ioan Pop in the 18th century, and at the entrance the sculpture of those two open palms, wishing you a welcome. The church was restored in 2004, on which occasion damaged elements were replaced, biological protection was carried out, and a lightning rod was installed.
